edited February 2013 in Interview Preparation
Hello All,

Can someone enumerate the exhaustive list of documents needed for the Interview? If someone has a pdf file or so containing the exact details , it would great.

    1. I think all of you have given the interview at-least once. For the befit of others can anyone of you please take the initiative and list the documents one requires for the interview at Dholpur House apart from his degree certificate.
    2. For example, if one does not have a certificate proving workex and if he has already mentioned the workex in DAF, would that be fine.

Brave are those who fight even when their defeat is certain.
  • no work experience certi require....
  • 10th+degree+ PG(if applicable ) + caste(if applicable )... thats it
  • do we need to take photocopies of these documents as well? How many sets?

    What I've been told:

    1. You would be sitting in a groups of 6 persons in a common hall. There might be 7-8 such groups depending upon number of interview boards.

    2. A person would come to your group and check all your documents in original and collect the photocopies.

    3. Then your documents (original) as well as photocopies would be checked by a separate panel sitting nearby in the hall. After they find everything in order, you will get back your original docs and you'll sign an undertaking that you have received your original docs. All this will happen within 45 minutes after you enter the hall, interviews will begin subsequently.

So you need at least one set of photocopies. It would be better if you take 2-3 copies of each, just in case.

    4. You'll receive detailed mail/letter from UPSC regarding documentary requirements. Among them would be two recent photographs. Ensure that your current appearance resembles your appearance in the photograph. Interview boards are strict and some candidates have been asked to submit fresh photographs immediately after interview. It happened to one candidate who normally wore glasses but his photograph was without glasses, so he had to get his photo clicked from a studio nearby and submit it to the panel.

    5. Take a lot more photographs, 10 or so, because these would be required next day in the medical examination as well.

    6. Take ID proof as well, it is required to enter the UPSC Bhawan at main entrance.

There will be a mail from UPSC clearly listing all the required documents.

And another thing, if you normally wear glasses, take prescription along, doctors will exempt you from the eyesight check, else it'll take time to get your eyesight checked. Avoid it if you can.
