Is it the end of communism ?

does it exist in text books only. Russia disowned, China just have for the sack of convenience otherwise its more open atleast in terms of economy. younger castro regreetted to have it in cuba. so where does it exist???

  • The communist movement ensured that capitalism did not go laissez faire and rights of the little people was kept in consideration. That was why most countries went on to become mixed economies that did acknowledge the need for humane labour laws and social security for workers. In that sense, it was rather assimilated into the realpolitik of the world.

    Like Hagel said " With time old ideas lose their functionality and new ideas emerge (thesis - capitalism) and opposition to them also emerge (anti thesis - communism) and the resulting idea which is functional to the current time (synthesis - Welfare state) is produced as a result of the 2"

    So Communism has served it's purpose and gone back to sleep :)

  • Communism aur socialism zinda hain aur India me hi hain. Apni constitution bhi socialism ko manti hai. Par practical baat yeh hai ki yeh sab zyadatar kagazon me seemit rehte hain.

    not over till now. still some countries follow it
    Best performed communist country =vietnam ; worst performed = north korea (i am not sure here whether its really communist or mere gangster rule);
    communism got absorbed everywhere. Even pure capitalist countries like the US had to adopt some of its features for eg central banking system, trade unions, obama's healthcare plan..etc. In west, people take "communist" word in negative they built another word called "welfare programs" which has many aspects of communism.
    One personal opinion i want to say ...apart from great revolutions communists brought all over the world, irony is that indian communism sucks. Even the founding member MN Roy discarded communism later.

  • Communism is a failed concept and will never succeed in the real world. It's is sad that our founding fathers followed the socialist ideology and even included the word socialist in the constitution by the 42nd amendment.
