Well, all i know is that there will be a written cum interview round. I guess the focus will be on government schemes and their performance. Yes, I am an engineer and an MBA :)

I think this will be a good engagement and force us to read the newspaper for at least the next 10-12 days or so.

We should definitely meet up :). Also, it is good that they have conducted this exam right after mains as we will be able to recall a lot for that written test.

Actually, I think that written round would be more of an essay type where we will have to write about problems of rural india and stuff. So, i guess recalling the major programs and their contribution will not be that difficult. Also, I think a nicely presented answer would fetch us marks here?
  • @andy133 I think it will test our knowledge of govt. schemes. I am fairly okay with govt. schemes, but since it is RDF = Rural Development Fellowship, I have no idea of the depth that they are looking for.

Seeing their prelims i don't think we have to go very deep into the schemes. I guess a revision of some topics of GS P-2 should sort us out!
  • last year i attended written test for MA in rural development at TISS. It involved writing 2 essays of around 500 words on issues related to total sanitation campaign and NREGA. Since this exam is being conducted by TISS, i expect similar format here as well

  • @bhaz That was insightful.

So are you suggesting that we may just get two essays?

Also will all 1400 or so selected candidates get interviewed. If so, then I think Interview will take place on daily basis once the written test is done with, because it doesn't sound possible to interview over 1000 candidates on a single day.

i guess there are 1100 candidates and the process will be spread over 2 days.
  • yes all will be interviewed . they are being conducted in various cities so not all 1000 would be interviewed by single board
