Going Back to IT sector after 4 years gap

Hi All,
I left job in 2014 to prepare for civil services. . But now I want to go back . I have 2 years of work experience .(IT industry)

Please suggest what to write in resume?
Should I tell them that I left job for civil services preparation? or any other reason?

Is there any company which take people with gap?

Bro do you have attempts left? If yes then it's better to look for ssc cgl exam. It is the best exam ( in my opinion) where there is no pressure ,no work ( compared to public sector undertakings, banks)and handsome salary. Best for cse prep for anyone.

ssc cgl is badly delayed and so many cases are there on it.

SSC CGL is the toughest exam now. Huge competition and now a days nothing comes easy. Gone are those days where you prepare for civils and can crack other exams. Bro there are many courses which you can learn and apply for a company ex.. Tableau, Qlikview, Power BI, Python, Cloud Computing, Azure, Dev Ops etc.., I was in similar situation during last year but i learnt Tableau and now working in a good company. use your friend network, try to get experience from any company using your connections. no company is ready to take people with a gap of 4 yrs. Start ups might consider you.
  • I joined a company after 2 years back .I was in etl testing now.learnt tableau on my own and updated my resume and uploaded resume in.Naukri1..I honestly told them about upsc prepararion..don't have to lie ..
  • @pippa22

What was the company's response when u told them about upsc prep? How many years of experience you had before taking a two year break?

    Prelims:4* Mains:2* Interview:0
  • i joined a company through campus placement and worked for two years ..took break and studied for 2 .5 years and joined in another company .interview mein main questions regarding prep
    !. what were u doing last 2 years ?
    preparing for upsc .
Q .you must have forgotten all about sql queries and previous work ?
no sir .. as a fresher i learnt the software with interest ..and i worked 8 hours per day for 2 years ..even if i want to ..i cannot forget ..btw i sir answered all the questions in technical interview ..so that means i did not forget
    Q.do u regret career gap ?
no got a lot of exposure in delhi .met different kinds of people ..learnt new subjetcs like economics (stressed economics since the job needs little bit of financial knowledge ) ..now i know the big picture in macro economy , governance blah blah ...i am always interested to learnt something new always ..now also i have heard that i will be trained on a new software so i am very much comfortable and excited .

Q .dont u want to give the exam again ? you have invested so much time ?
no sir when i got into preparation i was sure that i wont give more than 2 attempts ..i am not longer enjoying it and i am done wiht it .i am happy for the experience it wont go into vain .(obviosuly u cant say i will be trying to escape work and study )

BOTTOMLINE : the main challenge is do do well in the technical interview .the gap and all u can somehow convince ..its not like we did something wrong,..
  • @pippa22
