Please help me, friends!

Hello friends,

I am just going to start my preparations for UPSC CSE. At present, I am a fresher and know nothing. But, I have all the books and resources that are generally recommended to any civil services aspirant. I have 24 hours at my disposal and can give 12-14 hours to studies. Additionally, I am far away from the sources of disturbances like Facebook, WhatsApp, and likes of them. I just want to know that can I- a fresher- compete UPSC CSE 2018-19 if I do determined studies from now on? In any case, I will start my preparations today, but still, I wish to know your opinions! It is just to bring to your notice that 5 months remain for Prelims and little less than 9 months for the Main examination.

  • Whether you think you can or you think you cannot-both are right.

    You don’t need certification from anyone. And ample of time is there. I would say definitely go for it because I have personally paid a huge price for skipping 2016 prelims which I thought 6 months were too less to clear.
    Prelims=1 ,Mains= 1* , PT=0

    Geography Optional.
  • Stop visiting forum. Give 4 months×10hours to systemic and systematic as well as well planned study.

    After that you yourself will know whether you can do or not.

    ATB. Yes You Can !
    Being IAS... 4 U Onlyyy... :-)
  • I started full fledged preparation from 10th June 2014, and still managed to appear for the interview in 2014 attempt itself.
    Maybe that helped. ATB.
  • @determinedaspirant I too started this new year , will complete the static and current with revision , hopefully.
  • Thanks @Beuce @Yo_Yo_Choti_Singh
    Thank you @Detective_Conan. Yes, it helped. ☺
