hey friends..can anyone tell about paper 3 and 4 of tier 2?
  • NCERTs?
How to prepare for Finance and accounting subjects for Tier II?
  • For paper 4 - microeconomics 12th ncerct + finacnial accounting 11th ncert.

For macroeconomics and govt schemes - you are already better prepared. If not- can do economics of both 11 and 12th ncerts.

Specialist books are : ts grewal for accounting (double entry book keeping) and vk ohri (microeconomics)

If no time to spare- people last yr have cleared with just the rakesh yadav AAO book which is a copy paste material strictly covering the syllabus with mcq's in the end.

I am planning to finish ncerts and then do mcq's from a scanned book for aao found at ssctube (some arora publication-yellow cover).
  • Tier II has how many questions in 120 minutes? The notification mentions all Papers within 120 minutes; is it so? Or does each paper have a duration of 120 minutes?

Also, will there be no GK questions in tier II?

Tier 2 consists of maths and English each with 200 marks and 120 minutes time. Maths paper contain 100 questions (100*2) and English paper contain 200 questions (200*1).
    No G's in tier 2
  • What about Paper 3 and Paper 4 of tier II. Are they included in the 120 minutes?
  • @omnicrave Will T2 and T3 be held simultaneously or T3 after T2 only for those who clear T2?

Are dates changed from 21-24 Dec or remains intact?

  • Can testbook mocks suffice? They are in my budget. I find KD and Paramount costly. Any suggestion

  • Testbook would suffice. You may also give free live-mocks at various sites if find need to diversify your sources. (Qmaths/ssctube etc)
  • This website has much clearer details compared with the official notification!
There will be 4 separate papers of 2 hour each. https://testbook.com/blog/ssc-cgl-exam-pattern/

    @Om_Prakash @heman_motu you can refer this: https://www.careerpower.in/ssc-cgl-coaching.html

No paper 3 and paper 4 have different papers with 200 marks and 120 minutes time. They are held on separate days for eg-- one day you will appear for paper 1 and 2 and next day for paper 3&4

Also I am confused regarding the tier 2 and tier 3 dates. Because previous year there was tier 2 happened and then a cutoff was released and only those candidates that cleared that cutoff were called for tier 3 which happened after a month or two I guess.
But now the notice says tier 2 and tier 3 will be held bw 21-24 December. Don't know how they will conduct both tiers in this time -- maybe simultaneously? But tier 2 has 2 exams already how would they fit in 3 Rd exam in the same day?
Well it will become clear in December so right now you should prepare for tier 2.

Dates have been changed from 10-11 November to 21-24 December.

Because of this behavior of SSC, I can't do anything. Cancelled a trip near end of December, for this exam. Now in January, it may clash with state PSC. We are orbital suckers in this SSC/UPSC game.

  • These dates could even clash with UPSC interview :disappointed:. Last time interviews were held after 30 days of Mains result.

  • guys now SSC Tier 2 has again been postponed ,this time till Feb 17.What are you people suggesting in order to balance it with UPSC Pre Preparation..
  • Don't really know..I wanted to drop this 2018 upsc attempt..but now looks like this ssc 2017 process/joining wl go to 2019. So will have to go with the attempt as I can't sit jobless for a yr and not give an attempt as well. Also mppsc is on 18feb. That is screwed now as well.
Similar stuff happened in 2017, had to drop rbi for upsc pre.
