  • for geography, history and polity..do we need to read extra books or the same one (like NCERT, GC Leong, etc) used in Prelims would be sufficient?
I do understand for topics like World Geo and world History, more would be needed but please suggest for parts related to Indian Topics

in my experience reading the same old books along with current affairs ... e.g. geography : question on flood and its management ... we need to follow old (studied) material + recent floods ....identifying the difference with urban floods

Kahaan se padhna hai, kya kya padhna hai, kitna kitna padhna hai, kaise kaise padhna hai, kya kya Nahi padhna hai, Kaise likhna hai, kaise Nahi likhna hai, Kitna Likhna hai, kitna Nahi Likhna hai........................Ye sab cheezein mera Khayal hai ki har koi jaanta hoga.

Meri taraf se Sirf ek hi Baat --

MAINS exam se pehle, kam se kam 6-7 Revision ( Agar Sambhav ho toh usse bhi zyada) hona chahiye har ek padhi hui cheez ke.... Agar aisa Nahi hua toh Final Selection Bhul jaao.

Agar Waqt ho, toh utne bhi kar lena chahiye.

UPSC mein jo jitna zyaada Achhe se Ratt ke Answer hu-b-hu Produce kar sakta hai, wo utna zyaada achhi Rank le aata hai...

Aur uske liye chahiye hote hain, dher saare Revisions

Baat toh sahi Hai Bhai. But revisions ka Bina answer writing ke koi fayda nahin Hai. Jitna bhi padh lo 3/4 sawaal aise honge Jo Nahin sunein honge kabhi. Unko answer Karne ke liye answer writing kaam aayegi.
Last year krishnadevaraya/west Africa/allelopathy/McBride/coelho case etc etc kitni bhi revisions kar lo nahi likh paoge.

Bhai ideally toh test series he best rehti Hai. Ek schedule ban jaata Hai aur feedback bhi acha he mil jaata Hai generally. Plus u can compare ur copies with the toppers.

Haan cost ka issue hota Hai but agar 2 log bhi share kar sakein toh sahi ho jaayega..alternate tests like lo ya aisa kuch arrangement kar lo.

First of all thanks bhai for sharing precise plan ... this was the aim of the thread ...
    now questions -
    1) as people are referring to 6-7 revisions ... how many you had done and howz it works ?
    2) do u make some very precise notes for economic survey (or underline) for future quick revision ?
    3) ethics : how are you preparing ?
    4) answer writing ... how you have planned to improvise it ?

1)6-7 revisions, i will not do that much 2-3 seems plausible.
2)yes i will make precise notes using keywords..i will extract issues from eco survey for example tax to gdp ratio, impact of gst,or fiscal deficit problem, railways, recapitalisation of bankins, emergence of trade blocks in asia likewise and try to link them with current happenings.
    3. ethics i ll read as suggested by mrunal.
    4. answer writing is overhyped..nonetheless will try to collect vision mains test series and i will also frame questions on my own and will try to answer. also will download toppers answer sheet to analyse what made them score good marks.

my preparation will revolve around current affairs in paper 2& 3.
