    PK Joshi Board :(

    Factual questions and case studies
other boards have questions on predictable lines Why Civils etc etc
on the other hand PKJ can start on a very factual question and case studies not a single person in my group of 6 was asked conventional questions. It went on in a Viva mode with most of my replies sir IDK, IDK.
his marks are binary 0 - less than 140 and 1 more than 185
    very few people in 150-170
so if your interview went average with PKJ board most likely it will end up at 140-150's if good then 180+

Not satisfied...no question on home state and only 1 from hobby..no question from current job...mostly factual questions..so fingers crossed. As my mains did not go so well so hope was with interview..
    ·
  • very less marks he gives
    ·
  • Koi positive feedback bhi do yaar??
    ·

Koi positive feedback bhi do yaar??

Toppers in forest services have very high Mains marks this year forestry had bumper marks 210+ for most
so don't just go by notion top 3 are from his board they will be top 3 irrespective of the boards

    1. Nonetheless, as I said earlier if your interview is average in PKJ you are doomed with (140's) if it is good then you will rock
    2. There will be very few people in middle range
    3. For forest services most interviews where taken by 4 boards - PKJ sir, Arvind Sub sir, Vinay Mittal sir and finally came Bassi Sir - the other 3 boards had question
    4. Why Forest services why not civil services
    5. Your hobbies
    6. Your education

      PKJ sir board

      1. All interview members were stressing on factual
      2. Most interviews were abrupt 20-25 mins whereas for other board comfortable 30-40 mins
      3. Within this 25 mins there were 40-50 questions - jumping from topics asking the factual question even though the candidates have told sir I haven't revised that part
I am not trying to create any scare but since you asked why people this year are so scared of his board
Again there will be good number of people with 180+ (binary logic)
i just mean the average interviews in PKJ boards could have either very high or very low score so one should be prepared for both

He gave pathetic marks last time.
After analysis, there is bound to be an uptick this time. And this is corroborated by the relatively better marks he gave during IFoS interviews as well.

  • Pkj panel's interview is like viva..where teacher asks different question and just listens no response ..whether one is answering right or wrong..so all candidates remain doubtful about interview..my interview went slightly above average..don't know what he will give..fingers crossed

Must say, a very informed analysis of Prof PKJ. His questions are unpredictable, difficult and at most times unexpected. His board does not indulge in cross questioning. He does not question on set pattersn and precedents. Does not interrupt the members. He starts off by making the candidate, a little unsettled by his questions which are mostly IDK Sir types. Then over the time he silently observes the candidate who by now is visibily disturbed and internally shaken. In such cases either the candidate becomes agressive to the extent of boards displeasure or submissive to the level of boards antipathy. In both cases its all too easy for the board to judge you. Those who keep the nerves under control even during the rapid fire of Chairman and later maintain a composure as if though nothing happened, are the ones who score well. Yes his range of marks are mostly modest but not binary I would say most of his marks are either 151 or 165. With very few in 175+ or 185+ and few in less than 145 range. Cannot say how he awards marks this year.
    ·
  • Thanks for the great analysis
    ·
  • He is parsimonious in giving marks and ruthless too ....the main issue is even when interview went well one may be doomed to the range of 110/130.
