1. When I've to join coaching classes ?
2. What's favourable for me pre+mains, only pre , foundation bath, or mains only
3. Plzz tell me about some standard books and online medium of preparation.
4. How to get online standard material of decent coaching classes and important website
5. How to download n.c.e.r.t.books in PDF format.
6. Making notes is good or not.
7. Most important how to start preparation , it means first step
8. I must have a background plan or not bcoz financial condition is not good so much.my father's retirement is on 28th Feb 2018.
9. My basics are not clear . then what I've to do for clear the basic concepts
10. Should I've to take csat classes and

It's good that you have your goal sorted out at young age... Now answering your question -
    1. It's not that you have to join coaching institute it's just if you do not have any financial constraints then it's better to join one.
    2. Pre plus mains batch.
3 to 5- 7.don't go for any material now just read the syllabus, see previous yr questions and go for ncert books.
    6. Note making is advisable as it will ultimately save time.
    8. Yes back up plan is required it can be ssc, bank po, masters etc.
    9. Ncert, see mrunal videos for geography and economics
10.gs first followed by optional. Csat not required.
    * coaching helps but it's not that it's necessary to Crack this exam especially now when many classes are available online for free. Check out mrunal, unacademy, see toppers interview then take an informed decision.
  • I have joined Vision IAS online coaching classes for pre cum mains course(foundation course).. willing to share with someone on sharing basis...if anyone interested let me know...contact on 8076038946
  • Hi,
    1. Complete coaching asap and use the rest time to revise and self study. This is the right time for formal coaching
    2. Pre+mains
    3. Please refer http://forumias.com/portal/ and then preparation tips. (Insights strategy too is good and I refer it.)
    4. shashidthakur23.wordpress.com or xaam.in or http://www.visionias.net/ (I prefer shashidthakur)
    5. Again the same above websites or ncert.nic.in
    6. Good. But not copy paste. Also use A4 sheets. I wish I had someone to suggest me this when I started. PLEASE AVOID NOTEBOOKS and use A4 sheets only.
    7. syllabus then PY questions then Ncert (try to complete NCERT before coaching)
    8. Dont give upsc with half hearted attempt. If you are so much worried try SSC and then complete focus on upsc
    9. ncert
    10. CSAT NO; Optional depends on you. But its recomended to do side by side gs and opt coaching and then complete optional prep first and then GS self study.
    All the best.
