  • Dear brothers and "fellow aspirants" :) [pata nahin rank 1 aur 2 aa jaaye kahin  )
Can you please shed some light on what does an optional in mains examination add to the quality of a civil servant?. One can take maths, one can take some literature, one can take some humanities subjects and so on - and then there are optionals which get butchered, there is scaling and what not. So is it not just muddling the already non-transparent procedures of UPSC?

I understand that GS can be too vague and people tend to find a level of sanity in Optionals - thus are cheering for 2 optionals above. However, when a process is bad, you don't change it to worse; rather work towards better changes.

bhai/behen jab 2 optional the process itna vague nhi tha. hard work was rewarded. ajkal tumko pta bhi nhi hota kya likh kar aaye ho paper m.. mann ki baat ban kar reh gya h exam

GS bhi kaun sa quality add kar de rha bahot. no exam can judge anything. aise toh poora exam system hi bekar h. but we are looking for some surity
