  • After it passes away...or decipates...western disturbances are responsible for rains and cold waves in northern India...once subside temp. Again rises.it has inverse relation
    ·
  • when western disturbance arrives wind direction changes in northwest india from north and north westerly to easterly and south easterly which are warm and humid..also western disturbances leads to more cloudiness in plains which raises nightimes temperatures..after western disturbance moves away wind direction again changes to north westerly which are very cold coming from snow clad mountains and cold waves are there in plains as it is happening now..

Bhai..generally ..we can predict arrival of western disturbance. Western disturbance arrival is marked by sudden rise in temperature.we all have experienced that.Amid winter nights, we come across a warm night where we don't find need of a blanket. An experienced person can easily tell that next 1-2 days there is going to be rain and then followed by very cold cloudless days. This is western disturbance experience.
Now why such weather changes are witnessed? For this we need to understand western disturbance. Western disturbance is a temperate cyclone. This are phenomenon of mid and higher latitudes.these temperate cyclones are very different from tropical cyclones. These are formed when warm airmass meets a cold airmass. You can easily google and see the structure of a temperate cyclones. They are very lage and sometimes span over a whole country.Ther are made up of three zones.first is warm airmass zone which is marked by warm airmass, cloudy sky .middle zone is warm/cold front zone which is marked by rain and cloudiness and third one is cold airmass marked by very low temp.As this cyclone travel over an area , it experiences different zones one by one and thus the above mentioned weather changes.
