[Economics] How was the economy under Obama administration? Newer prospects under Trump

Hello economics people

It is said that US economy under Obama has accumulated 20 trillion USD debt and burden of 8 trillion USD QE at 0% which soon will trigger economic fallout as Trump is too inexperienced to handle economy. His own companies have gone bankrupt various number of times.

Can you please share how US economy has performed under Obama ? And what will be the impact of Trump grabbing the president post on Global economy and in India?

  • Well there are two perspectives to this answer. One from Indias POV and the other from an American POV. Which one do you seek ?

Trump had said he will do something on these two,
    1. Chinese devaluation of currency to make their exports cheaper.
    2. Making oil prices optimum in long term.

Chances are there for India USA bilateral trade across the sectors to improve for countering Chinese. Chances are difficult, but there will be a lot of effort on this from both sides.

Apart from the uncertainty over migration issues, i expect the economic situation in our country that is leveraged by the policies in usa, will improve from the past.
    Good Bye. See you Later.

Trump has conflicting views on the american economy. He is against all major trade blocks. However, he might seek bilateral trade relations with major economic powerhouses.

I guess we would have to wait till Jan'17.

P.S:- He wants to get all "lost jobs" back to US. So I guess he would embrace protectionalism.
