A rod of 8 kg is movable in a vertical plane about a hinge at one end, another end
is fastened a weight equal to half of the rod, this end is fastened by a string of
length / to a point at a height b above the hinge vertically. Obtain the tension in the string.

    Is it 117.72(3b-l)/(b+l)
    Not sure buddy..i may be wrong..just calculated it..
    If d answr is true- thn 1st calculate COM and then height weight calculation and rotational acceleration irt d height..then tension..

  • Answer is 8l/b.
    You just need to equate total moment of force w.r.t. hinge as zero and for one more relation use property of triangle.
