    Yes sir
commerce /CA etc. are desirable qualifications.
    ·
  • does desirable mean compulsory or can we all fill that post pref w/o having CA/MBA qualification?
History will be kind to me for I intend to write it.

Yes sir. Otherwise CA/ Commerce etc would have been essential qualification .

  • I have seen people giving the first preference to Examiner post saying that the examiner is posted at ports and they have great facilities there .
Could someone please elaborate on that ? What sort of facilities ?

I googled a lot but couldn't find any information .

Yes examiner is better than Preventive Officer, my friend is the latter and he regrets not filling Examiner as first choice. But if you compare with Income Tax then it depends on your preference which one is better. I think 1st choice should be between these two.

  • Yes , I know that examiner is better than PO and also better than Excise inspector . He has the power to search and inspect any cargo . Gets authority from day 1 of joining .
Income Tax inspecotr is also good and selection between IT inspector and examiner dependa upon a person's likings .
    I agree with you .

But I wanted to know what sort of facilities are provided to the examiner at the port ?
    ·
  • kamai ka bhi pata hai . bahut kamai hoti hai 2 number ki .
But woh karne ka iraada nahin hai . toh ise first rakhu ya 2 - 5 k beech me , yeh is baat par depend karta hai ki facilities kya mil rahi hai port par ?

Otherwise , Income Tax Inspector . Coz isme Delhi positing mil jayegi .
Agar main achhe marks lakar examiner ban kar Goa me imported whishky me soda ki jagah local beer mila k beach par chaddi me sundays ko dhoop sekta hoon , toh Weekdays me kya facilities hongi - is par mera decison dependent hai .

I have heard not some , but many people saying port me posting hoti hai , infrastrcuture achha hota hai , facilities achhi hoti hai .
par kya hai woh facilities ?

  • Eye Vision ko lekr kissi post mei koi problem nhi hai na??
    ·
  • Ek chijj Maine notice kiya ki income tax inspector group 'c' mei aata hai but examiner group'b' mei aata hai. So examiner is much better than income tax inspector???
    ·
  • No.

Firstly in terms of their position in the heirarchy of their respective organisations , both are at the same place .

Secondly , both have same grade pay .

Thirdly , last year too , SSC had mentioned C grade in front of a few interview posts . Later , they was upgraded to B grade by the SSC by issuing a corregendum .

    Summary
Your decison to choose between Examiner and ITI should not be based on their classification in mentioned in notification .

You can however compare jobs of Grade Pay 4200 and 4600 on this basis .
    ·
  • Disclaimer: This is for the 18-23 age group, Not for 25+ age group.

Out of the box free advice:
Put group C jobs before group B in your option list. Especially if you are preparing for other tougher exams like Civils...

    Reasons:
    First less cut off so easier to get, CGL prep will be less stress full;
    Mostly boring work but won't tire your mind, if u r in IT u know what I mean;
Also you will have a bigger fire in your belly if you are a clerk than an inspector...
You can always reappear later and get group B if you want...
Especially don't let social recognition guide your decisions, Society won't/can't help you if you find it difficult to prepare while working...
