If u need coaching for reading newspaper , then better not prepare for UPSC, not your cup of tea.
  • Aspire IAS is a big fraud, and i will give you reasons for saying this. But before that, I must tell you who am I and why I have so many grudges against this guy, so that you can take a fair view.
(--- I joined his newspaper class. On the very first day i asked for Fee return. He took it on his ego and abused me. I went to police. Police asked me to file an FIR, but i was too busy with my study that i didn't want to get involved in all this. all I wanted back, was my fee. Police forced him to return my fee. The only mistake, that I made, was despite having so many IIT seniors in this field, i didn't consult anyone about this institute. My seniors and friends said that i should write a review of this coaching on Forum IAS, but i ignored. Now as i have seen this thread, i am writing a feedback. )
    1) His arrogant attitude - he is so obsessed with himself that he always keeps on ranting about his abilities. He thinks that whatever comes out of his mouth is divine truth and no student must have any doubt about what he said. Half of the class time will be wasted on telling you that this number of questions in prelims have come directly from his mouth (He used exactly these words n number of time). If you put a view which is not matching his views, he will start pulling you down. He will target you and try to silence you. If you are a type of guy who asks frequent doubts then be ready for character assassination by him, he will lynch you, will make extreme comments on your attitude, body language.
    2) His knowledge - He will give you many factually wrong informations, that you can check very easily. He thinks that Sikkim was part of China till 1970 (being fair, u should not judge him by just one incident...BUT..). He thinks that he is an economist, and a geographer. HE was an IAS aspirant and during 5-6 years of preparations he took a masters degree (IF that makes a specialist, then he is the one). Apart from holding these specializations he has a false sense that he can teach you about each and everything under the sun. after every 5-10 minutes, he will CRITICIZE VAJIRAM AND SHRIRAM, for making false promises and for not teaching you well. He feels that because other institutes don't know what and how to teach, students come to him and he spends nights preparing himself for the class.
    3) His VEDIC way of teaching - My god, you will go into shock when you get to know this. He thinks that whole class chanting out loudly, is the best way to read and remember news. It reminded me of my first class when in last 15 minutes of the day we used to chant maths tables loudly in a group. Here 100-200 students will be SHOUTING OUT THE NEWS PAPER. forget about remembering, i couldn't even read in such an atmosphere.
He will discuss THE HINDU NEWS PAPER ONLY, and that too 10-15 days behind the date. He will discuss only one or two topics out of 2-3 days newpapers, in detail. I think his choice of articles was also not good. He ignores many important articles at the cost of not so significant ones. most of the time u will be asked to underline the points, and there will be no fodder points or discussion on those points. Apart from that personally, i think taking 6-7 hours continuous class is the worst idea. TO BE FAIR, HIS PRINTED NOTES ARE OF GOOD QUALITY.
    4) classrooms- classes are held in an underground room which is too small, and have no ventilation at all. there is extreme suffocation. Students will be crammed into this room. If you come late, you will have to sit on the stairs where you can see him in a Screen installed there
    5) His publicity stunt- COME ON...who the hell do such publicity stunts like distributing T Shirts, snacks in the class room. we are not kids to get ice creams in class.
    6) SHEAR UNPROFESSIONALISM - The fee receipts have a clarification that you can demand you fee back within 3 business days. I went to him and VERY Politely put my case that I am not used to this way of teaching and this request for fee return. His Egoistic attitude didn't gave any value to my problem, and he made personal comments like- TUMHARI AUKAAT KYA HAI MERE SAAMNE KHADE HONE KI, TUM MERE KO JAANTE NAHI HO ME KYA KAR SAKTA HUN, TUM PEHLE INSAAN HO JISNE MERI TEACHING STYLE PE DOUBT KIYA.
In the end, I had to take help of Rajendra nagar police, and a sincere thanks to the Station house officer who forced him to give me my fee back.

I feel happy that I quit it at very first. My advise is YOU MUST NOT JOIN THIS CLASS. IF you are his students and not happy with the course, then please leave it right now, because untill now u have wasted your money but if you dont quit u will suffer mentally and waste your time also.
  • There is one more thread about this institute....If you want..u can have a look at that also.

One can have a look at previous years exam and prepare accordingly..also toppers like GA have also given example of how to go through it..at max you can look at vision ias ca if u feel there are some gaps in your ca prep..but taking coaching to study newspaper ..seriously?

From what I hear, its not that good.
  • Aspire IAS should be hanged till death!
  • I will be giving the more detailed review of his class after my mains exam is over.

If you avoid his personnel attitude you will some what get more in limited time & money. After all one man can't teach everything. A one man army institute ( as bestowed by ak aggarwal time to time).
Yes his teaching is full of errors & he focuses only on few his favourite students who kneeled before him.

Bhai, you are lucky, you got a refund. I had to leave delhi and when I told him after the first class that I would like a refund, i were made to come 5-10 times to his office in off hours, which were always closed. I called them, no response. One day another guy in his coaching told me to write an application for refund, i did that. I told him that I am moving out of Delhi, and can't spend a month to just get a refund of geography optional and newspaper course. After 2 long years and 5-7 calls every day in the first year (he received the call for the first 3-4 days, then no response and after 2 months changed his number ), i haven;t got my refund. I were referred to that institute by a friend of mine and trusting in him had paid everything in advance, the whole sum. luckily the GS coaching, a popular one, was nice enough to give me a part of my initial payment (After deducting 20% for a class).

Pata to sala ye bhi nahin hota ki ghas ko muh se khaye ya churi-kaante se. dost ya seniors keh de ki beta ghas se pichwada saaf karna hai aur gobar ko churi-kaante se khana hai, to banda pehla 1-2 mahina to wahi karta hai.
  • Well , what above @pappu wrote is absolutely true. I can confirm it in written .he Is utter shit among coaching institutions. Now tell me what makes aspirants to join his classes ;
-he plays with students vulnerable portion; current affairs, culture, geography , map , envt etc especially pre oriented stuff.
Students think if they join him ,will enhance their intellectual intake in framed manner. And will make them to clear prelims.

To clear PT, you need to study what everyone studies for no of times .he has nothing to teach you special except dictating book after book (yes, he literally dictates spectrum , IYB , ECO SURVEY, MAP , envt book etc in class itself, and students think he taught them the topics) . But in end , aspirants have to suffer badly and with regrets. Or sincere students will be clearing anyway.

    Then what could be the solution ;
Join a prelims test series @ vision, vaji or anywhere so far comprehensiveness in test series remains. I guarantee you paying 7k.8k will ripe you fruits , if you stick to test series seriously. Especially, if you are not damn sincere student or feel to have exam like atmosphere to push urself. Joining test series will make you to read enough to pass prelims with flying colours.

    Now come to current affairs ;
Watch rstv , listen Fm talks religiously .take notes out of them if you can , else its okay .but listen them sincerely , will widen your intellectual space to think constructively.
In the end of month , go after vision ias current affairs, mug up , keep revising .will help you a lot in mains (along rtv+fm ).
Or if you are finished with your coaching ie 2nd/3rd attemptee then join vision /gs score mains test series .it will give you a platform to pratice what u read nd listen , eventually fetching marks in final exam .

    Best of luck.
Don't waste money to such idiots, he isn't worth to talk , forget
to get tutored by him .
Ps; I never joined him , but I stay near to where he takes his classes . 2of my medico friends joined only to curse themselves. And seriously, I don't want any gullible to going and wasting his money and getting frustrated .rest its ur choices.
    Have a nice day! !!
correct me ,if i am wrong ! i would be happy to accept my mistakes !

bhai huaa yun ki prelims ke baad dhang se padhai ka tempo nahi ban paa rha tha. to socha ki koi coaching join kar leta hun, thodi continuity aa jayegi time schedule me. or isi chakkar me galati kar betha. I THINK NO ONE NEED ANY COACHING OF ANY KIND, EXCEPT OPTIONAL SUBJECTS. AND NO COACHING CAN TEACH YOU WHAT UPSC REQUIRES.

Bhai I also went through EXACTLY SAME TORTURE. But I decided to get back my money at any cost.
  • My personal experience

the institute is a big eyewash. I am an independent minded person and asked questions in the beginning when I joined. Then he started ignoring and rather targeting me. In reply of a question he told me to write to the President of India to get the answer. I was close to a girl in the class. One fine afternoon he let both of us down in the class and that was end of my innocence.

For the beginners he would look nice and in first few classes he would teach well. His knowledge would get exhausted after first 5-6 Vedic Style classes. Thereafter comes the time for self-exaggeration ànd cursing Vajiram and Sriram. He would force you to read the magazine Parakram which is purportedly authored by him. He would exaggerate a lot about this magazine but trust me to read this magazine is suicidal from all standards.

As I said, I had to move out of delhi, my company transferred me all of a sudden to hyderabad. My friend went in place of me a number of times, and then came back one day frustrated. Told me, "saale chutiya bana rahe hain ye lehen ke bode. Koi paisa -waisa nahin dene wale." Afterwards, neither were he willing to go, nor were i able to!
  • I joined lerts see how truthfull the reviews were.
  • I had gone for his Orientation class despite all the words in the ForumIAS against Aspire IAS faculty. Orientation is free so I wanted to go to see what he is of, that so many despise him yet so many ranks come out of his class. As someone mentioned, the class is in an underground and totally crammed. Many had to sit in the stairs and see him through the TV. Let that be as it is. Coming to the class, it being jam packed with around 200-300 students in place, his strategy seemed pretty interesting, attractive and compelling. For a beginner, of course his approach would be very catchy because on the very first day of orientation he gave lot of mapping studies and tips to remember DPSP. Beginners look for Tips and get enthused by this. May be that is why his coaching gets lot of attention among aspirants.

However, he was focussing mostly on Geography, he was blaming all other institutes and praising himself all the way, he claims he works 15 hours only for this every day, and also he went on to give numerous tips and techniques on some parts of the topics on the first day itself. All this drove me too into finalising that I will definitely join him. He was interesting and it was Rs. 9,500/- (not that I am paying and lakh and half). But, then I came back and visited ForumIAS for opinions. Not a single guy said anything fair about him. Fair, may be unjustified here. All said SHIT about him. And when linked to the Orientation Classes, those turn out to be very true. So much Thamasha about himself, crammed classes, chanting all together the news (worst part, OMG!), too much focus on Geography mapping, too shallow knowledge on Science, wrong info being passed to student about the subjects. I mean all of it had its bits and parts visible in the Orientation class itself. So finally I decided not to join him. Thanks to Forum guys.

On the question why join NP Analysis classes, most of you are true that one need not join NP Analysis classes because it is something we have to do it ourselves and no one can help. But I also think that for beginners, just giving them a newspaper in hand and asking them to prepare would not help. May be they would try and go misguided. They will attempt all sort of Trial and Error method and ultimately would see the Exam approaching. Personal opinion, though. But self study is what that would pull us out of this cycle of karma, I can say.

I have seen futures being destroyed due to blind faith on AspireIAS. Almost 60-70% rank holders are from ORN or Mukherjee Nagar, so it is imperative that many coachings can show that this and that was from his coaching. Don't judge him on this metric, he has so many modules, that some of the rank holders may have been a part of any one of them.

    His problem areas

    1) He focuses a hell lot on map pointing and geographical facts which is not at all required if you don't have Geography as an Optional. Students of his class can name the longest rail line in Africa and other such stupid facts which are rarely required even in pre. It is laughable how he fools people by teaching irrelevant facts in Geography. Map pointing will improve definately, so you can solve that 1 or 2 question that are asked in pre from that part. And for that you will waste hundred hours or so.

    2) Too much fact oriented teaching

Geography is his specialty area and even in that besides map pointing you might not learn anything else. He doesn't focus on concept building. He believes in giving interesting facts by which new aspirants get an orgasm and think him as a God.
Same in History where he is unable to develop a thought process which is required in History, specially for Mains.

    3) He will make you dependent on himself. Newspaper module is the biggest farce . If you need someone to spoon feed you newspaper at the beginning, you will always require him. You will fail to develop the newspaper reading habit that is required for a long term

This is the reason his fans remain his loyal followers. They become dependent on him. He is dumbing down preparation. I have seen his students, some of whom have never read a single newspaper by themselves. This is horrible. Heights of spoon feeding.

    4) Focus on rote learning and rattafication can only help you in pre. Mains need analytical mind. He is highly unsuited for it.

Simple logic will tell you that newspaper reading classes is not required. It's a thing you have to develop by yourselves. Newspaper comes daily, for how long will you depend on him?

And a single person can't be an expert on all subjects. If he is saying so, than he is obviously lying. Don't put all your eggs on a single basket. Avoid such fraud people.

ANYONE WHO SAYS YOU DON'T NEED TO READ NEWSPAPER AT HOME AND I WILL DO IT FOR YOU IS FOOLING PEOPLE.

(PS. Not focussed on his attitude or class conditions in this writeup)
    IRTS (2015), ITS (2014).
  • Dear all, please follow civilsprep.com videos. they are more than sufficient for hindu newspaper. read the notes and newspaper. it is good.
  • i heard wrong about this coaching. he is making money by fooling many new comers. Read newspaper yourself and apply "What, What, How" on articles one will feel comfortable.
  • Boss. Its good for first timers who dont know how to and what to read in newspapers. He has his wrongs but just join his newspaper class for a month and then leave. Just cope up with the guy. He is arrogant and wrong a lot of times. All the above is correct. But one month of his class and you will really get to know the answer to the ques: "Newspaper me kya kya parhna hota hai".

Also if u cant read newspapers u dnt have to leave UPSC. I have many friends who cleared with just Vision Current Affairs.
  • m so happy that people are getting filtered from civils race by reading these reviews...Thank God...
